Experienced Managing Director for Yorkshire based Financial Management Company

The Role

As Managing Director of this Wealth Management Company you will be responsible for managing both the Sales and Administration team to positively impact KPIs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • attend regular board meeting to present progress reports
  • utilise new marketing ideas to ensure service levels to clients are maintained / improved
  • ensure staff welfare is maintained and high standards of training / qualification are gained
  • agree / implement growth & development plans
  • manage monthly finances (interim & annual accounts / VAT return )
  • personnel responsibility - recruitment and retention, appraisals, training plans, salary & pensions management - chairing weekly departmental meetings
  • Have a thorough understanding of the UK Financial Services Environment, including but not restricted to the UK Financial Advice (Investment, Pension and Protection Market)
  • Have defined Senior Manager Functions and Responsibilities under the FCA Senior Managers & Certification Regime

The Company

Our client is a well-established, privately owned Financial Management company providing bespoke Wealth Management Services including Discretionary and Advisory Investment Portfolios, Protection and Pensions advice with an in-house Compliance Department. A sister company, with a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner, produces Lasting Powers of Attorney, Wills, Probate Administration, Trusts etc. and offers clients a complete in-house service. This provides a unique selling point supported by the company's administration and paraplanning team offering full back office, marketing and compliance assistance.

You will receive a discretionary bonus linked to profitability and increased turnover together with a high pension contribution and income replacement plan.

The Person

As Managing Director - Financial Services you will be well qualified (RQF Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning minimum with Chartered status preferred) with excellent leadership qualities and experience. With a thorough understanding of the UK Financial Services Environment, you will also have the following knowledge / experience:

  • good computer literacy ( PowerPoint / Word / Excel. Intelligent Office or similar CRM system etc )
  • methodical and organised approach
  • flexibility and ability to prioritise / multi task
  • ability to develop relationships and motivate staff
  • good performance / project management skills
  • proven track record of managing a sales team with admin team management desirable
